Structuring the Educational Partnership

Spring 2005 brought a 6-member team from Montenegro to George Mason University (Mason).  There were many activities planned for the team to experience life at Mason and to concentrate on university structure and governance in the American tradition.

Team members were Dr. Ljubisa Stankovic, Rector of the University; Vice-Rectors Zarko Mirkovic, Dragan Radonjic, and Deans Bojka Djukanovic, Vujica Lazovic and Dravko Uskokovic.   The visit began with a dinner hosted by George Mason President Alan Merten and his executive council.

The partnership and friendship between Mason and the University of Montenegro dates from 2004. The following diagram is an organizational chart related to the development of a comprehensive, responsive system of higher education for the University of Montenegro in partnership with George Mason University through the U.S. Department of State Education and Cultural Affairs grant.
